I have this box. The original one on Sep 7 that you see in the pic is my box in my truck. The box is well constructed - custom fit to the 2003 -2006 Avalanche - and well sealed. I also bought two Punch P2 10" (SVC) and a Soundstorm Labs FY1802 amp from CAF.
It all sounds real good. I listen to rap, and the system is right. I won't win a competition, but that's not what I'm after. It sounds good inside and outside the Av - with enough bass to shake the rearview mirror and whomever is in the back seat, but not enough to beat up the neighborhood.
The guys at CAF did me solid. When I first got to CAF (because I live in Houston, I could go there) the box they had didn't fit my truck (i think it fit the 02 Av, which is a bit different under the seat.) They checked out where the box needed to be changed, measured the back of the truck, and 24 hours later, I came back and they had the box re-fabbed, poly sprayed, and ready to go.
As with most boxes for the Av, you don't get full midgate use, but that's a function of the truck, not the box.
CAF also has a box for 12's that will fit in the rear window storage space and a midgate box. If you need a good sub setup at a good price, get it here. The owner has been in the sub enclosure business since the early 70s - when the very first car sub enclosures were being sold for 6x9s.
Looks good, sounds good, fits good.
